Advanced Practice Nursing Fellowship in Oncology

The Advanced Practice Nursing Fellowship in Oncology (APNFO) provides a six-month paid fellowship for registered nurses who are interested in oncology advanced practice roles. The purpose of the fellowship is to grow their knowledge, skills, and competence alongside a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Advanced Practice Nurse Educator or a Nurse Practitioner within Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. All activities and duties will adhere to existing University Health Network policies, regulatory body requirements and professional practice guidelines within the context of oncology care. Some activities that the fellow may be involved in, but not limited to, include: literature reviews, collecting and managing data, drafting of evidence-based practice tools etc. These activities may culminate in a presentation for Oncology Nursing Day.

This fellowship is focused on fostering the development of advanced nursing skills in providing comprehensive patient centered care, collaboration and consultation with an interprofessional team, and supporting patients and their families through the oncological processes.
