Meet our Director of Professional Practice at the Oncology Nursing Research Centre of Excellence! As a key member of our team, Anet is responsible for overseeing and driving the success of the ONRCE’s efforts. In addition to her vital role in advising and conducting research related to the evaluation of the ONRCE, she plays a key role in program design and strategic planning to ensure that our projects are of the highest quality and have a meaningful impact on patient care. With a wealth of experience in the field of oncology nursing, Anet works closely with the ONRCE team building the infrastructure that drives the success and innovation of our research efforts, as well as ensuring that Princess Margaret Cancer Centre nurses’ scholarly work remains at the forefront of oncology nursing research.

We are thrilled to introduce you to Dr. Samantha Mayo who is the RBC Financial Group Chair in Oncology Nursing Research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and the University of Toronto.
Dr. Mayo is responsible for leading the development and execution of our research strategy. As the ONRCE’s research chair, she is the lead nurse investigator in the ONRCE’s scholarly initiatives and works closely with our team to ensure that our work is comprehensive, ethical, and impactful. Dr. Mayo plays a critical role in consulting on oncology nursing scholarly projects and guiding their professional development to ensure the advancement of nursing science. Her contributions are formidable in driving progress in oncology nursing science, and we look forward to her continued contributions to our team!
Lara Cooper,

Clinical Nurse Specialist in the ONRCE at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre
We are proud to introduce to you the ONRCE’s inaugural clinical nurse specialist! Lara provides crucial scholarly expertise in designing and evaluating the ONRCE’s projects such as: fellowships, grants, our annual report and scholarly projects, including our needs assessment to determine context-specific gaps that the ONRCE can address.
She also provides consultation in oncology nursing scholarly projects to ensure that they are grounded in nursing science and enhance patience centered care. She is responsible for overseeing the development of the ONRCE’s monthly workshops, communication strategies, and will be co-leading our Peer Mentorship Group with Dr. Mayo. Coupling these initiatives with building partnerships, we are excited about her efforts to enhance oncology nursing scholarly work at Princess Margaret.
